1) Start by researching who you want to connect with: Before reaching out to anyone, make sure that they are someone who could potentially benefit from knowing more about you or vice versa. Look at their LinkedIn profile or website for information about their background and interests so that when you reach out, it will be tailored specifically towards them.

2) Make contact in a professional manner: Once you’ve identified someone that might be interested in connecting with you, reach out via email or social media (LinkedIn is usually best).
