Programs

Some of the programs offered by the Warwick Valley Community Center are:

Small Fry Preschool: Director – Karen Kettler

Our preschool program offers gently structured classes with experienced staff. The Small Fry Preschool has provided plenty of individual attention and care since 1984. The convenient village location of the Community Center also offers a large playground and extensive grounds.

The two-day program for three year olds is a great introduction to school. Students learn to share and develop their social skills, participate in outdoor play, make friends, have class pets, participate in seasonal celebrations and performances on stage, and make projects. A potty-trained child is not a requirement for registration.

The three-day program for four year olds continues to develop skills. Students have group interaction and play, learn independence and develop self-confidence. Students participate in show and tell, field trips and special projects. There are seasonal celebrations with performances on the stage. Students are introduced to kindergarten-readiness, including ABCs and numbers, through play and developmentally appropriate lessons.

The Enrichment Program is for the child who is not quite ready for kindergarten but has completed one year of preschool and is ready for more than three days. Projects focus on enhancing the learning environment and include science projects, dramatic play, math projects, social studies, music appreciation and making books.

Teen Center Program

Our afterschool, Teen Center Program is for students in grades 6-12. This is a free program and meets Monday-Friday from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. in our new, state-of-the-art facility. (Get more info from Becky)

Independent Film Club

The first and third Saturday evenings of every month (with some exceptions), the Warwick Film Group shows independent and foreign films on the Center’s Sony theatre system with a 19 foot screen.
